Portsmouth

Well we ended up staying for 2 days in Biddesford Pool due to the fog. Fog in itself is not the issue, it is not being able to see your way through the mass of lobster pots - the poor radar won't pick them out!
The first day we got part way out of the harbour and the fog closed in so we beat our way back.
Today on the other hand was clear with north west winds from 10 - 20 knots so it was an exhilarating sail and we arrived early in the afternoon. We found dockage at the Navy base marina, my former military service allowed us (plus a guest - Greg and Debbie) to stay and it only cost $20.00 a night. Picked up groceries, filled up with water plus a shower made it well worth while. Here is a picture of a Navy jail that is on site, it was closed in 1958 and it looks it.
